Alcea (Hollyhock) are members of the Mallow family with hairy leaves from which dramatic tall spikes appear carrying many open face flowers from the base upwards. Alcea are ideal for the back of the border or against a wall or fence. They provide drama and interest in any corner and are a magnet for bees who bathe in their pollen.
