Not In Season
Nepeta or Catmint is not only attractive to cats; the bees are drawn to them, the flowers are produced up wiry stems and are long lasting, some varieties may need a little support. These Perennial Plants are ideal as edging plants especially the smaller varieties like Walkers Low, or the middle of the border, the foliage and the flowers have a soft hairy feel.
They look good planted with Alchemilla Mollis, Lavender, Geraniums, Agastache, Hemerocallis Day Lilies or Bulbs like Alliums Purple Sensation, Aflatunense and other tall Allium varieties and Tulip Bulbs in white, pinks and purples, the foliage will hide the dying leave of the bulbs.
