Allium Ambassador is a new giant allium with long lasting, purple flowers. It's recommended by Which! Gardening (click here to read The Telegraph article). Our allium bulbs are top quality and will provide you with a stunning garden display in the early summer. Deer and Rabbit resistant
Allium Ambassador is a gift that continues to surprise.
A rich purple sphere sits atop a stem of 1.2metres high. The flower buds are covered by a tunic that splits through the centre. As the flower emerges the tunic sits either side of the bud showing the promise of something spectacular yet to come.
Within the first week the flower is strong and colourful, but over the course of a few weeks it keeps growing larger.
The individual flowers of this large allium bulb are small and compact. They have a slightly paler centre which is very attractive if you get up close.
As with all large alliums the foliage is thick and broad. Consider this when planting as it can choke out surrounding plants. It will begin turn brown just as the allium flower is at it’s peak. It’s worth giving them space around the garden.
Plant in full sun in well draining soil. Alliums are tough bulbs ideal for the extreme weather conditions we can sometime experience. You can leave them in the ground for a fuss free garden.
