Discovered on the mountain plateaus in Crete by G.P. Baker from the Royal Horticultural Society, this small tulip described in 1895 was originally given the name Bakeri. Somehow it took until 1971 to officially confirm its full name: Tulipa Bakeri Lilac Wonder.
