  • Fritillaria Imperials, Persica and Pontica and Verticillata, grow in full sun and fertile well drained soil. Plant around at a depth that is around 4 times their diameter. Plant Fritillaria Imperials with the bud slightlky tilted to avoid water getting inside the bulb and rotting it. Plant around 10-20 per square meter. Fritillaria Meleagris need humus rich soil that is not allowed to dry out. Pant in full sun to partial shade. They prefer a damp meadow or woodland conditions and flourish in cool damp summers. Allow around 50-75 per square meter. Fritillaria Elwesii, Michailowski and Pontica like fertile, well drained soil. Plant in full sun or light shade. They do not like wet conditions. Allow around 50-75 per square meter.
