  • Plant Astrantia in moist, fertile humus rich soil in sun or partial shade. They are ideal plants for the woodland garden and moist areas. In dry weather, they will require watering to prevent drying out. They self-seed freely if they are not dead headed after flowering. Major varieties tolerate drier conditions.
