Alchemilla which are also known as Ladies Mantle, are excellent for ground cover in the rockery or at the edge of the border. The leaves of the alchemilla plant are grey-green and adept at catching water which sparkles in the sunlight and gives an extra dimension to these perennial plants. The frothy, chartreuse coloured flowers last well and are good for cut flowers. It's always good to clip the plant once the flowers fade to help the leaves rejuvinate. This perennial plant rightly deserves it's Royal Horticultural Award of Garden Merit.
Plant Alchemilla with Nepeta where the purple and green flowers mingle together to good effect.
