Large greenish-white with a scent of aniseed. Astrantia Snow Star (Masterwort) is a cottage garden favourite; which is as happy in the contemporary garden. Beautiful pin-cushion flowers that will brighten up a shady corner or happily be at home amongst hardy perennial plants, cut back hard after flowering and they will reward you with a second flush of flowerers in late summer.
