How to plant and care for perennial veronica plants

To get the most out of your veronica plant, consider these tips:

  • Choose a sunny or partially shaded location for planting veronica to ensure it receives the necessary sunlight for optimal growth.
  • Prepare the soil by loosening it and adding some organic matter to improve its fertility and drainage.
  • Plant veronica in well-draining soil with a spacing of 30-45cm to allow for proper air circulation and prevent overcrowding.
  • Try planting with nepeta, rudbeckia, heleniums, achillea or geraniums.
  • Water regularly, especially during dry periods, to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
  • Mulch around the plants to help retain soil moisture and suppress weed growth.
  • Deadhead faded flowers to encourage continuous blooming and remove any diseased or damaged foliage to maintain plant health.
  • Divide overcrowded clumps of veronica every few years to rejuvenate the plants and ensure continued vigor and flowering.
