Sweet Pea Old Sweet Scent is a wonderful mix of old-fashioned Heirloom varieties, which despite the name grandiflorus (large-flowered) produces somewhat small flowers. Various varieties arose in the period 1700-1900, the most striking colours and the strongest fragrances were chosen.
Sweet Peas require well-tilled and fertilized soil. Soak seeds for six hours before sowing. When you have two pairs of open leaves remove the growing tip to induce side-shoots for the stem below to encourage a bushy plant. When planted outdoors provide a growing frame to support the plants.
