Wild Fennel African Bride
Delivery: All year round
Wild Fennel African Bride (Nigella papillosa/hispanica) is an uncomplicated border plant with attractive, snow white flowers and purple-black centre which starts to protrude as a corolla above the petals as it matures. It makes a beautiful garden plant and is perfect for cut flowers. The seed capsules that develops a little later are highly decorative.
Prefers a well drained soil enriched with manure or compost. Sow directly in final spot. Can pre-sow in a greehouse, but the plants will then quickly grow tall.
