A historic bulb that naturalised in northern Europe in the 17th Century. Relatively unchanged over the centuries, they are much closer to the original wild tulips and behave in a much more natural way. They might be deeply rooted in history but they are also an important part of our gardening future.
Sylvestris is known as the Wild tulip and is a great naturaliser. Plant it 10cm deep in a spot you are happy for them to multiply. Or plant them in containers if you dont want them to spread. Their characteristic lilting stems and casually opening petals give these bright yellow tulips a completely unique charm.
