Crimson-scarlet burnished with copper and green.  Tulipa Sprengeri is a rare beauty that will thrive in partial shade where it can be left undisturbed to self seed and build up colonies, it is important not to handle the seeds or immature bulbs as they develop they should be left to grow naturally.  This handsome specie tulip is one of the last to flower; it has been know to flower in to June. It is rarely grown commercially hence the price of the bulbs.
